Parents and Carers
Welcome to our parents’ section of the website. Here you will find all the information needed for day to day school life. Please also look in the other sections of the site for policy information and curriculum information. Thank you.
Parents’ Evening – Parent/carer consultations are held in the Autumn and Spring term to discuss the progress of all children. Each term all parents and carers also receive a copy of their child’s Personal Learning Map with their current targets. In the Summer term a detailed report is sent home. If you wish at any time to discuss issues around your child’s happiness, progress or targets please contact your child’s class teacher in the first instance. We have an ‘open door’ policy and encourage any problems or concerns to be shared as soon as possible so that we can find solutions together.
Each year we collect the views of our parents and carers to help us continue to develop Scorton School. This is usually done in the Autumn term.
Scorton School has a strong and effective PTA – The Friends’ Of Scorton School. Meetings are usually held termly with the purpose of supporting the school, raising money and providing social events for parents, carers and families. Details of meetings are published in the weekly school newsletter and all parents, carers and friends of the school are welcome to attend. For more information please contact the school office.
“Parent View gives you the chance to tell us what you think about your child’s school.
Parent View asks for your opinion on 12 aspects of your child’s school, from the quality of teaching, to dealing with bullying and poor behaviour. We will use the information you provide when making decisions about which schools to inspect, and when.
By sharing your views, you’ll be helping your child’s school to improve. You will also be able to see what other parents have said about your child’s school. Or, if you want to, view the results for any school in England.”
